Short Bio

Tsì-Uí İk, a.k.a. Chih-Wei Yi, received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL, US, in 2005, and the B.S. degree in mathematics and the M.S. degree in computer science and information engineering from the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1991 and 1993, respectively.

He is a Professor with the Department of Computer Science, National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan. His research interests include wireless ad hoc and sensor networks, intelligent transportation systems, data mining, network coding, and algorithm design and analysis.

Dr. İk is a member of the Institue of Electronics and Electricity Engineers, the Association for Computing Machinery and the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers. He was a Senior Research Fellow with the Department of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. He was awarded the Outstanding Young Engineer Award by the Chinese Institute of Engineers in 2009 and the Young Scholar Best Paper Award from the IEEE IT/COMSOC Taipei/Tainan Chapter in 2010. He was awarded a 3-year Outstanding Young Scholar Project from the National Science Council, Taiwan, in 2012.
