Introduction ---
I and my wife visited the Penghu Islands about 25 years ago, but not for sightseeing. We have been wishing to visit it again for a long time because we know it is a wonderful place with abundant natural and cultural resources. This 3-day trip made our dream come true. The trip even gave us an overall impression that Penghu, as a site for sightseeing and recreation, is superior to Kenting which is more popular in Taiwan.
In the three days, besides visiting famous spots on the main islands, we have also landed on three smaller isles by boat. Our curiosity about outlying isles was well satisfied. I always imagined the possibility of traversing a small isle easily by foot in a short time, but this trip shows that this is actually not true - an isle with dwellers like Tungpan, though small, is still large enough to take you a couple of hours to make a round-isle trip.
This was indeed a fruitful tour of nature and culture. We hope to go there once more in the future because there are still so many wonderful places to visit.
