Introduction ---
Nanyuan in Kuanhsi, Hsinchu, Taiwan is a famous classical Chinese garden owned by the Wang Family of the United Daily News Group. After Ti-Wu Wang, the leader of the family, passed away in 1996, the garden is open to the public. Now it is managed by The One, Inc. and became a resort for sightseeing.
Nanyuan Garden was designed by Pao-Te Han, imitating the structure of famous Chinese gardens in Mainland China, like Zhouzhengyuan in Suzhou near Shanghai. The main architecture elements in typical Chinese gardens can all be seen in Nanyuan, like Ting, Lou, Hsieh, Tai, etc. The basic structures of various window shapes can also be found there. It may be said to be a miniature Chinese garden.
It was a one-day visit. After slow appreciations of the garden details, we had lunch there. We left in the afternoon. Maybe the visit was too short. We considered to stay overnight there, but the fee was too expensive. However, we still had a happy time!
