Introduction ---

Nepal is called the ridge of the world with the world's highest peak, the Everest, located in it. It is the only country whose people mostly worship Hinduism, a religion of thousands of years old. Buddha's birthplace is also in Nepal. These facts make Nepal attractive for tourism. We had a wonderful trip there from February 6 through 14 in 2010. This is the 29th country or area I have visited.

The trip includes exciting elephant and canoe rides in Royal Chitwan National Park, watching the sunrise and sunset of the Himalayan Range at two cities (Pokhara and Nagarkot), visiting six UNESCO world heritage spots in Kathmandu, and touring and shopping at several interesting sites.

Nepal has lots of mountain resources for developing tourism. Many foreigners come to climb the Himalayan Mountains. Nepal has just changed from monarchy to be a republic in 2008. Her people live happily though her GDP per capita is only US$470 as of 2009.
