Introduction ---
My wife and I had been looking forward to the Setouchi Art Exhibition ("Setouchi Triennale") for many years, and this long-awaited dream finally came true through a relaxed yet fulfilling five-day trip. Our journey took us across several islands in the Seto Inland Sea, where we enjoyed both the art festival and the region’s stunning natural scenery and cultural landmarks. The atmosphere was truly delightful, especially as all our fellow travelers shared a deep love for art.
One highlight of the trip was cruising by boat between the islands—a rare and fascinating experience. The natural environment and island culture were especially rich and captivating for foreigners like us. Another highlight is having the oppotunity to visit many art galleris and see lots of artistic sclulptures and paintings from many countries.
This was our seventh visit to Japan, focusing on visits to the Shikoku region and the islands around it. The journey lasted only five days, too short for in-depth explorations, although we have seen many artworks in outdoor environment and in galleries. We hope to return again someday to explore the islands of the Seto Inland Sea in greater depth. Every corner of Japan continues to enchant us!
