Introduction ---

This was a trip to attend a conference, JALTCALL, about English language learning, in Kyoto, Japan with Chen Ming-Kuei, a research assistant of mine. We strolled in some relics and temples in the Kyoto area before and after the conference.

Kyoto is the most historically significant town and the former capital of Japan. It is full of with temples, shrines, imperial palaces, and traditional wooden homes. It is home to 20% of Japan's national treasures. It is the seven largest city in Japan and has a population of 1.5 million.

In the 5-day trip, we took every kind of transportation tools to visit the major sites of this old city. It was a good memory of Japan.
