n這是個交大傑出校友葉宏清先生個人贊助建築研究所的數位建築實驗，基地位於汐止的公信電子公司三樓接待大廳。這個數位建築實驗從概念、初步分析、電腦模型及實體雷射切割測試、色彩計劃、材料及結構各方面的測試後，開始從事自由形體構件單元之測試及生產。由於自由形體的設計中沒有任何一單元為標準化之模矩及尺寸，各自有不同的角度及曲面，在掌控、測試及生產上格外需要精準度，更由於目前的建築工業未能有如此之水準，我們針對金屬構件及金屬表面材料的雷射切割製作，與壓克力表面材料的真空成型，我們走訪了高科技產品設計，希望能確實的控制其0.5mm生產精密度。
This project is an experiment of digital architecture at NCTU, Taiwan,
sponsored by Mr. Ching-Hong Yeah who is an outstanding alumnus of NCTU. The site
is the reception hall of the Bcom corporation, on the third floor of a
25-story building. Within the 40 days, concepts, early spatial analysis,
digital and physical models, laser-cutting text, color scheme, material,
lighting, and structural analysis were all completed. There were no any
modular or standardized frame or surface in the design. In fact, there was no
module at all! We should be able to control a high degree of accuracy and
efficiency for producing all different angles and curves. The design team
searched for assistance from high-tech industrial design companies to test
0.5mm accurate laser-cutting and rapid-prototyping technologies.
