Chiayu Hsu is an interaction designer with multidisciplinary background. She was trained in fine arts and martial art, earned a master degree in computer science, and further explored in design discipline. Chiayu had years of working experience in leading IT firms as an engineer, and co-founded a startup in Taiwan. With curiosity to explore human and society, Chiayu studied design in Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design(CIID). During years of practice, Chiayu has experience in Asia, Europe and US, solving various problem with multidisciplinary team. Her clients include retail, telecom, automotive, finance, healthcare and consumer electronics industry. Currently she works as a senior interaction designer at frog design.

Chiayu advocates ‘fun design’- from the way of doing it to the outcome people actually experience it. While some see design as a serious profession, she believes making it fun and delightful can generate more impact. For her, the key of being a fun designer is to be responsible, and to bear in mind that there's always better tools to benefit the larger society.
